The Artist
Based in Narrogin, Western Australia, Casey graduated in 2013 with a BFA (Distinction) from Curtin University, and studied oil painting in 2019 and 2020 at The Art Academy, Adelaide South Australia. Casey’s studio is located in Narrogin where she works on her creative practice and private commissions. Casey is the Business Manager of Arts Narrogin, the local community arts organisation focussed on connecting community through arts experiences.
Casey was a finalist in the 2020 Bluethumb Art Prize, the 2020 Boynes Emerging Artist Award, and the 2019 Lethbridge Small Scale Art Award. She was a semi finalist in the 15th ARC Salon in 2021. She has been a finalist and award winner at a number of local Perth and Regional Western Australian art awards.
Casey was the recipient of a Creative Grid mentorship in 2018 and held her first Solo Exhibition Quietude (2019) in Narrogin, followed by a second solo exhibition Ephemera in Albany (2020). Her artistic flair has seen her branch out to different sectors of the art world. Casey has participated in multiple group shows across Australia, including the Alternative Archive in both the Narrogin and John Curtin Gallery exhibitions. She co-curated the local iteration of the Open Borders exhibition in 2023 and intends to further her practice in Visual Arts to bring greater support to the regional arts community.
Casey’s work is held in private collections across Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore and Germany. Her artwork “Reminisce” (PoetsArtists ‘Shelter’) was selected for ‘The Nova Collection’ time capsule, archived on the Moon via Intuitive Machines’ Nova-C Lunar Lander (launched Feb 15, 2024 & landed on the Moon Feb 22, 2024 via NASA CLPS-TO2-IM mission)
